Each year, the LEMIS+ Project works with over 2,500 people from across Belfast – offering support, advice and training to help those who are not working, are on benefits or work less than 16 hours per week to get into work.
Led by Ashton Community Trust, the free pre-employment programme is part funded through the Northern Ireland European Social Fund Programme 2014 – 2020 and the Department for the Economy, the project works in the heart of communities to assist people of all ages into meaningful employment.
During January and February 2018, Mentors from Ashton Community Trust further worked in the hearts of communities by delivering a series of North Belfast job clinics – providing people with an opportunity to discuss their circumstances and options.
Speaking about the LEMIS+ programme, one client commented: “When I met my mentor, I was blown away by her level of commitment. She was genuinely supportive and kept in constant contact with me to let me know about other courses and to keep me in the loop about job opportunities.”
